The tax bills that some Brown Countians are receiving in the mail show an incorrect county name on the homestead credit, Brown County Treasurer Joe Wray announced today.
Wray explained that somewhere during the billing process, someone accidentally mixed the Boone County pink slips with the Brown County pink slips.
Wray characterized the mistake as a “small snafu” that can easily be fixed. He said the estimated 1,050 property owners who receive the incorrect notice just need to fill out the form anyway and send it to the Brown County Auditor’s Office at P.O. Box 37, Nashville, IN 47448.
Wray said anyone with questions can call the treasurer’s office at 988-5458.
