BC tennis drops match to Indian Creek
Updated on: 09.11.12

The Eagles fell to rival Indian Creek 3-2 in boys tennis Monday night.

Duncan Ricci at No. 1 singles beat Mike Mendenhall of Indian Creek 6-4, 6-3, while Dakota Patterson and Brady Rose won in three sets, 0-6, 7-5, 6-4, over Brett Maulden and Elliot Van Hoy to provide the only two wins for the Eagles.

Nathan Miller at No. 2 singles lost to Brett DeHart 6-1, 6-1. Shane Franklin dropped his No. 3 singles match 6-3, 6-1 to Cody Breedlove. At No. 1 doubles, the duo of Bryce Fish and Evan Rose lost to Noah Benedict and Jared Modugo 6-4, 6-1.

“To say that this loss was disappointing would be an understatement,” wrote Coach Kevin Roush in an emailed statement. “We once again came out flat and were not ready to play. We need to pick up the intensity from the start, not just sit back and wait for the match to develop or play from behind. We need to find a way to get a better start.”

The Eagles are 6-6 on the season.

The junior varsity squad won 4-1 over Indian Creek.

The next match is today at Seymour.
