STONE HEAD -- A two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning snapped a utility pole and sent a local woman to the hospital.

At about 8:15 a.m., police and EMS were called to State Road 135 South just south of the intersection with Shepherd Road for an accident with injury. Brown County Sheriff's Deputy Greg Pittman reports that two vehicles, one driven by Martha Sechler and the other by Matthew Stinson, both of Nashville, were southbound when they collided as they tried to pass a Brown County Highway Department road grader.

Sechler's vehicle crossed the northbound lane and struck a telephone pole. Brown County Highway Department Superintendent Claude "Smokey" Presseau reported the accident and attempted to help Sechler out of her vehicle, according to the dispatch log. An ambulance took her to Bloomington Hospital for treatment of injuries to her face, including a possible broken nose, Pittman reported.

Stinson was not injured.
