Report: Five-car collision on Clay Lick
Updated on: 12.03.12

Shortly after 10 a.m., EMS, Cordry Ambulance and first responders from Nashville and Hamblen volunteer fire departments were called to a five-vehicle collision in the 1100 block of Clay Lick Road. According to dispatch traffic, there are at least four patients, most of them with minor injuries, but they do include a senior citizen and a child younger than 3. Dispatch was checking on Lifeline's availability to fly.

That block of Clay Lick Road has been the site of at least four accidents in the past month, many of them when the road was wet.

10:28 a.m. UPDATE: Lifeline is to land at CYO Camp Rancho Framasa in about 10 minutes to fly the senior patient to a hospital. EMS reports that Columbus Regional Hospital's emergency room is full and that other patients will have to be taken to Bloomington Hospital for treatment.

10:53 a.m. UPDATE: One woman has been flown to Indianapolis; two other people and the child have been taken to Bloomington Hospital. Look for photos and an accident report in the Dec. 5 paper.
